UTTAR PRADESH-<\/strong> On Monday, the US aerospace company Boeing <\/a>announced the inauguration of a warehousing facility in Khurja, Uttar Pradesh, dedicated to parts supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spanning 36,000 square feet, the India Distribution Centre is a collaborative venture with the third-party logistics provider DB Schenker. According to a statement from the company, this facility aims to assist regional aviation customers in optimizing fleet utilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing Warehouse Facility in India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This newly established location in India is part of a global network consisting of eight distribution centers responsible for storing and dispatching spare parts exclusively for Boeing’s commercial clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing India President Salil Gupte commented, “This center will cater to the growing demand for spare parts for Boeing aircraft in India, reducing lead times, enhancing availability, and supporting the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO)<\/a> industry in the region.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing had initially disclosed its investment in the distribution center during the Aero Show in Bengaluru early last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the statement, the inaugural shipment of parts from the facility was dispatched to customers in December 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aerospace manufacturer affirmed its dedication to enhancing customer service by expanding its global distribution network, which involves investments in and the development of regional distribution centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

William Ampofo, Vice President for Parts and Distribution Services and Supply Chain at Boeing Global Services emphasized that the India Distribution Centre is a significant stride in Boeing’s strategy to provide parts and services precisely when and where customers require them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, he highlighted that this initiative underscores Boeing’s commitment to delivering cost-effective solutions for its commercial airplane customers in the region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strategically situated along India’s Eastern Freight Corridor, in close proximity to both Delhi and the forthcoming Jewar airport, the distribution center underscores Boeing’s dedication to bolstering growth and self-reliance objectives in India, as per the company’s statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kinjal Pande, Chief Executive Officer at DB Schenker, Cluster India, and Indian Subcontinent, remarked on the unique collaboration, stating, “The intricacies of warehousing and logistics, coupled with Boeing’s distinctive requirements, presented us with an opportunity to establish an innovative infrastructure that caters to the specific spare parts support needs of India’s burgeoning aviation industry.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
