The flight had departed from <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Tokyo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Narita International Airport in Tokyo (NRT)<\/a>, Japan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports from local broadcasters indicated that passengers could smell burning, prompting the Boeing to abort its initial landing attempt and make another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the airline is now slated to conduct inspections on their aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a passenger quoted by Japanese news site <em>TBS News Dig<\/em>, &#8220;My hands were shaking, and my family couldn&#8217;t even speak a single word, so I was really scared. I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll ever be able to fly again.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flight is operated by 16.3 years old Boeing 737-800, registered as HL8047. Shortly after takeoff, a door on the left side of an <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Alaska+Airlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alaska Airlines (AS) <\/a>jet ripped off, creating a significant opening in the aircraft&#8217;s side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident occurred as the flight was departing from Portland, Oregon, en route to California.
