UNITED STATES:- <\/strong>Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> has announced intentions to greatly reduce pilot recruitment in 2024 compared to previous years, suggesting a potential conclusion to the aviation industry’s hiring surge following the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline plans to onboard just over 1,000 pilots in 2024, approximately half the number hired in 2023. This shift comes as airlines, grappling with ongoing pilot shortages, had previously hired tens of thousands of pilots to meet heightened travel demands stemming from the post-pandemic recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, the aviation sector employed around 13,000 pilots and was poised to maintain a similar hiring pace in 2023, as reported by FAPA.aero, a pilot recruitment advisory service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
