SAN FRANCISCO-<\/strong> Starlux Airlines (JX)<\/a>, a Taiwan-based startup carrier, successfully conducted its inaugural commercial flight from Taoyuan (TPE), Taiwan, to San Francisco (SFO)<\/a> on December 16, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new route provides an additional travel option for passengers between North America and Asia<\/a>, complementing the existing Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a> route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starlux San Francisco Flight<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In a statement released on Sunday, CEO Chai Chien-hua emphasized that the San Francisco flight, the airline’s second destination in the United States, is specifically designed to cater to passengers traveling between major cities in North America <\/a>and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has ambitious plans for expanding its service network, with the launch of flights to Chiang Mai, Thailand, scheduled for January 18, 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, in the second quarter of the upcoming year, Starlux Airlines intends to commence flights from the central Taiwanese city of Taichung, further diversifying its offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the latter part of 2024, there are also intentions to initiate a new trans-Pacific route to Seattle, mentioned Chai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starlux reported that the inaugural flight to San Francisco on Saturday accommodated a total of 274 passengers, accompanied by beloved comic characters such as “SNOOPY” and Charlie Brown, who were dressed as cabin crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a special gift, passengers were presented with a luggage tag featuring the comic characters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Operating on the Airbus A350<\/a>, the route is scheduled to depart from Taoyuan every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 11:30 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrival in San Francisco is expected at 6:15 p.m. (local time) on the same day, with a flight duration of approximately 11 hours. It’s noteworthy that Taiwan is 15 hours ahead of San Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commencing on March 20 next year, the service is set to operate on a daily basis, as per the announcement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus A350, as specified by the carrier, features a total of 306 seats, distributed as follows: four in first class, 26 in business class, 36 in premium economy, and 240 in economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
