COLOGNE-<\/strong> The Lufthansa (LH) Group airlines<\/a> have outlined plans to restart flights to Tel Aviv (TLV), Israel<\/a>, starting January 8, 2024. In the initial phase, Lufthansa Airlines intends to provide four weekly departures from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt (FRA) and three weekly flights to Munich (MUC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Austrian Airlines (OS) is set to offer eight weekly connections to Vienna, while SWISS (LX) plans five weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Zurich (ZRH).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa Tel Aviv Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This initial step by the Lufthansa Group airlines will result in a total of 20 weekly connections to and from Tel Aviv, equivalent to approximately 30% of the regular flight schedule. The carriers will deploy aircraft from the Airbus A320 <\/a>family for these services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight timetable facilitates convenient transfer connections between Israel and North America through the Lufthansa Group hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The published flight schedule, available for booking starting December 18, 2023, takes into consideration safety as a paramount concern for the airlines within the Lufthansa Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Continuous monitoring of the security situation in Israel, coupled with close coordination with local and international authorities, remains a priority. Given the dynamic nature of conditions, potential adjustments to the flight schedule are anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv by Lufthansa Group Airlines were temporarily suspended on October 9, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revival of Airbus A380<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Another Lufthansa double-decker Airbus A380<\/a> has left storage in Spain <\/a>and is making its way back to the German carrier. On Wednesday, November 15th, D-AIMH took a flight for its journey home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This aircraft, inactive since September 2021, has been under the care of Tarmac Aerosave, an aircraft storage facility situated at Teruel Airport (TEV) in the Teruel Province in Eastern Spain, for nearly two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking off on Wednesday, November 15th, from Plataforma Aeroportuaria-Teruel, commonly known as Teruel Airport, the aircraft was initially anticipated to head for Germany by noon. However, it commenced its pushback at 13:08, a bit later than the scheduled noon departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journey, spanning two hours and 15 minutes toward Frankfurt, unfolded smoothly. The flight path took it over the South of France, Monaco, Milan, east of Zurich, into German airspace, passing over Stuttgart and executing a sharp left turn before descending into Frankfurt, concluding with a westward landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout most of the journey, the aircraft maintained an altitude of 40,000ft. Despite the delayed departure from Teruel, the aircraft landed at the Lufthansa hub at 15:24, slightly less than an hour behind its initially scheduled arrival time of 14:36, as per Flightradar data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lufthansa currently operates four superjumbos: D-AIMK, D-AIML, D-AIMM, and D-AIMN. The return of D-AIMH marks the fifth reintegration into the carrier\u2019s fleet, all slated to be based at Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC) to support a robust summer schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
