DELHI-<\/strong> Air India (AI) <\/a>Cargo Terminal Tense After Discovery of Hidden Weapons. Tension escalated at the Air India domestic cargo terminal when standard shipment screening was initially labelled as auto parts, per an official statement on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FIR, obtained by IANS, indicates that the 353 kg consignment, dispatched by Bhagwati Air Express Pvt. Ltd., reached the Air India domestic cargo facility on November 20<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon closer examination, Air India personnel uncovered that the boxes initially declared as ‘Auto Parts,’ harboured weapons and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discrepancy was promptly identified during the cargo screening process, triggering a thorough physical inspection by the Cargo Screener.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The subsequent investigation disclosed a mismatch between the declared contents and the items within the nine boxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the highly sensitive nature of the cargo, it was subsequently secured in the cargo cage, safeguarded under lock and key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to the complaint, relevant authorities, including the complainant and RK Ahir, the Security Manager Head in Delhi, conducted a comprehensive examination. A police team, in coordination with Air India staff, arrived at Cargo Terminal Gate No. 1 to further probe the matter,” stated a senior police officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complainant directed authorities to a designated room within the cargo terminal, housing nine wooden boxes. Each box underwent physical inspection in the presence of Air India staff, adhering to the provided inventory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inventory of seized items comprises five Mementos of Advanced Weapons and Equipments India Ltd, 100 dummy live cartridges, two magazines of 7.62, 7.1, 1, and 6, one ammunition cloth pouch, one Rifle LMG, one barrel, four plastic and metal magazines, and one barrel telescope, among other items,” stated the official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official added that they had filed an FIR under Sections 420 of the Indian Penal Code and 25, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act at the IGI airport police station<\/p>\n\n\n\n
