UNITED STATES- <\/strong>The Ultra-Low-Cost Carrier Avelo Airlines (XP) <\/a>is exiting four markets and announcing the seasonal suspension of nine routes Due to unplanned development<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The carrier had launched flights to Arcata and Dubuque in September, following its pattern of targeting markets with low or no air service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avelo Airlines to Cease Operations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Avelo Airlines, based in Southern California, reported to FlightGlobal <\/em>on November 21 that demand fell short of expectations on four routes: Raleigh-Durham (North Carolina) to Sarasota (Florida), New Haven (Connecticut) to Melbourne (Florida), and Las Vegas to Arcata (California) and Dubuque (Iowa). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These routes will continue operations through early January but will not be reinstated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline, known for targeting markets with low or no air service, had launched flights to Arcata and Dubuque in September. However, like other low-cost carriers in the USA, Avelo has observed a softening in domestic demand for leisure travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to soft demand in certain markets and scheduled maintenance of its Boeing<\/a> 737NGs, Avelo is making adjustments to its network in the first quarter. Additionally, the airline is seasonally suspending nine routes in the first quarter of the following year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avelo did not provide a specific timeline for the resumption of seasonal flights in 2024<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These include Burbank (California) to Colorado Springs (Colorado) and Brownsville (Texas); Las Vegas to Brownsville; New Haven to Greenville (North Carolina), Savannah (Georgia), and Charleston (South Carolina); and Wilmington (Delaware) to Nashville (Tennessee), Myrtle Beach (South Carolina), and Daytona Beach (Florida).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
