BRISBANE-<\/strong> Virgin Australia (VA)<\/a> has unveiled plans for a tourism boost to Uluru by introducing two new direct services from Melbourne and Brisbane next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In collaboration with the Northern Territory Government and Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia <\/a>(operators of Ayers Rock Resort), these services are expected to add over 62,000 seats annually to the Red Centre. This initiative aims to connect tourists directly to Australia’s spiritual heartland, offering travelers increased choice and value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Australia Uluru Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, these new services will contribute to the growth of the Indigenous Tourism sector, playing a part in the Northern Territory’s visitor expenditure that exceeds $3 billion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park has gained global recognition, being listed among the Top 52 Places to Travel in the World this year by The New York Times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The region features renowned tourism experiences such as the beloved Field of Light Installation, the new Wintjiri Wiru cultural storytelling experience, and a variety of arts and cultural tours suitable for travelers of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Australia is marking the occasion with a substantial Uluru sale featuring fares starting at $129* for one-way Economy travel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The promotional offer is valid for trips scheduled between June 6, 2024, and September 12, 2024, until midnight AEST on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, or until the available seats are sold out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In conjunction with this, Ayers Rock Resort has introduced a special Welcome Offer for accommodations at Uluru, starting from $150 per night at the Lost Camel Hotel**. Joel Bowden, the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality in the Northern Territory, expressed gratitude for Virgin Australia’s support in showcasing significant tourist attractions to both local and international visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exciting development became possible through the Territory Aviation Attraction Scheme and the strong partnership with Voyages, reflecting the Territory Government’s dedication to enhancing aviation access across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Uluru is a must-visit destination and holds great appeal for our international markets. Today’s announcement will enhance connectivity for international visitors traveling through Melbourne and Brisbane,” said Minister Bowden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matt Cameron-Smith, CEO of Voyages Indigenous Tourism Australia, emphasized that Virgin Australia’s return to the nation’s spiritual heart marks significant progress for tourism in Central Australia.
