FORT WORTH-<\/strong> American Airlines (AA)<\/a> has decided to abandon its intentions to operate the Seattle (SEA) <\/a>to London (LHR)<\/a> route next year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially scheduled to recommence on March 31, 2024, American has now entirely eliminated SEA-LHR from its flight schedule. This route represented the airline’s only remaining long-haul service departing from Seattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines Cancels Seattle to London<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines will transfer the London Heathrow (LHR) slot originally allocated for the Seattle (SEA) route to Miami (MIA)<\/a>, ensuring the continuation of their twice-daily MIA-LHR service throughout the Summer 2024 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The timing of this second flight closely coincides with one of British Airways’ (BA)<\/a> MIA-LHR flights. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, whether American Airlines is replacing one of British Airways’ existing flights remains uncertain, reported Ishrion Aviation<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cutting Austin Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

 According to Cirium Diio, the prominent airline analytics platform in the aviation industry, American Airlines (AA)<\/a> is planning substantial reductions to its network operations in Austin (AUS),<\/a> expected to take effect in early 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These changes are anticipated to be incorporated into the airline\u2019s schedule updates, typically performed on Saturday nights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout 2021 and 2022, American Airlines concentrated its efforts on developing Austin-Bergstrom Airport (AUS) into a key hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of primarily offering flights to American Airlines hubs, the airline\u2019s network in Austin expanded to encompass more than thirty destinations, spanning from Cancun and Orange County to Tampa. However, it now appears that this expansion is set to be scaled back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the information, American Airlines is planning to discontinue service from Austin to the following destinations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  2. Bozeman (BZN) after January 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n

  5. Destin-Fort Walton (VPS) as of 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Eagle-Vail (EGE) after February 2024, although there\u2019s a possibility of it returning seasonally<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. El Paso (ELP) after February 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Fort Myers (RSW) after February 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Jacksonville (JAX) after January 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Kansas City (MCI) as of February 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Liberia (LIR) after April 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Memphis (MEM) as of January 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  13. Montego Bay (MBJ) as of 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  14. Nassau (NAS) after March 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  15. Oklahoma City (OKC) after February 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  16. Puerto Vallarta (PVR) after April 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  17. Punta Cana (PUJ) after March 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  18. Sacramento (SMF) after February 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  19. Tampa (TPA) after February 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  20. Tulsa (TUL) as of 2024<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  21. Washington Dulles (IAD) after February 2024<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    This accounts for more than half of the destinations currently offered by American Airlines from Austin. Consequently, American will have limited nonstop routes, primarily focused on hub-to-hub flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
