MAINE-<\/strong> A 62-year-old pilot sustained minor injuries after his plane crashed less than a mile from an airport due to an engine failure, according to state police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The yellow single-engine aircraft came to a stop with its nose down in a thicket of woods on Thursday afternoon. A state trooper found Bradley Marson, the pilot, walking around the crash site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plane Crashes in Maine<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Medical personnel assessed the pilot, and despite his minor injuries, he was later taken to the hospital for further evaluation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pilot reported that he had recently departed from Limington-Harmon Airport in Limington when his engine experienced a failure. The Federal Aviation Administration is conducting an investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved is identified as a Skyraider II by Flying K Enterprise, categorized by the FAA as a kit craft. Within the aviation community, it is recognized as an economical ultralight plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Week, a small plane overshot the runway during a landing at Aero Country Airport (LID) in McKinney,\u00a0Texas<\/a>, over the weekend, colliding with a car on a nearby road and injuring one person, as reported by authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Footage captures the propeller plane breaking through a fence during an emergency landing in McKinney, a Dallas suburb, on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, the aircraft bounced and skidded onto the road, losing a wheel and impacting a silver sedan that was traveling perpendicular to the path of the single-engine plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Schneider, a witness who recorded the crash on his phone, shared, \u201cI saw the airplane coming down the runway quickly, and I knew that he wasn\u2019t gonna have time to stop. It was clearly going too fast, and the tires were smoking\u201d, as recounted to WFAA-TV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the crash in the afternoon, medical professionals assessed both occupants of the plane. They transported the driver of the car to the hospital with minor injuries, as outlined in a statement from the McKinney Fire Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight originated in Midland, a city in the Texas oilpatch located 330 miles (531 kilometers) west of\u00a0Dallas<\/a>. According to information from the fire department, the aircraft had been attempting an emergency landing attempt at the Aero Country Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Federal Aviation Administration is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
