UNITED STATES- <\/strong>Delta Airlines (DL)<\/a> and Latvia’s national carrier, airBaltic (BT)<\/a>, revealed their newly established codeshare collaboration starting on November 22 amidst a surge in transatlantic travel demand this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta will incorporate its DL code into airBaltic flights. This integration offers customers convenient connections and increased flexibility in booking and ticketing options for travel between North America<\/a> and Latvia<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Enhanced Partnership<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Alain Bellemare, President of international at Delta, emphasized the significance of enhanced partnerships in the airline’s long-term strategy to improve global connectivity for Delta customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Collaborating closely with airBaltic is expected to reinforce Delta’s ties to the dynamic European region, providing unparalleled access for consumers in the Baltics to a wide range of destinations across the United States<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The newly established codeshare agreement will enable Delta to feature its code on 20 routes operated by airBaltic, connecting to three major cities served by the Latvian carrier, namely Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic, expressed the historic significance of this achievement for both airBaltic and Latvia. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Codeshare Opportunity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The opportunity for codesharing arises as the Latvian Civil Aviation Association achieves a Category 1 rating from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration\u2019s International Aviation Safety Assessment program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the IASA program, the FAA evaluates whether another country’s oversight of its air carriers, operating into the United States or engaging in codeshare agreements with a U.S. air carrier, complies with safety standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over 100 routes originating from Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius, and Tampere, airBaltic provides connections to various destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
