However, the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Star+Alliance\">Star Alliance<\/a> member intends to resume service on this route starting October 29, 2024, as reported by <em>Aeroroutes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TAP Portugal had initially submitted flight schedules for up to 5 weekly flights during the Northern Summer 2024 season. Here is the proposed schedule between April 1, 2024, and July 8, 2024:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Flight TP277 departing from Lisbon at 13:40 and arriving in Cancun at 17:55 on certain days (not operating on days 2 and 7).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flight TP278 departing from Cancun at 19:25 and arriving in Lisbon at 10:40 the following day on certain days (not operating on days 2 and 7).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1023\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-270.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47153\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-270.png 1023w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-270-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-270-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image-270-750x500.png 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1023px) 100vw, 1023px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo:  Cl\u00e9ment Alloing | Flickr<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lufthansa-air-france-klm-to-buy-tp\">Lufthansa Air France-KLM to Buy TP<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, the German flag carrier&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Lufthansa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lufthansa (LH)<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Air%20France-KLM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Air France-KLM<\/a>&nbsp;have shown interest in TAP Air Portugal (TP) after the Portuguese government\u2019s announcement of its intention to sell a majority stake in the national airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government made an official statement, revealing that the Council of Ministers had approved a decree to sell at least 51% of TAP Air Portugal while reserving up to 5% for its employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finance Minister Fernando Medina emphasized the government\u2019s aim to attract substantial investors, individually or as part of consortia, who are committed to utilizing TAP Air Portugal to enhance its position as a national hub in Lisbon and increase capacity at other domestic airports, including Porto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Medina clarified the government\u2019s intention: \u201cWe do not seek to attract pure financial investments aimed at acquiring TAP to sell it or its parts later. We want to emphasize TAP\u2019s strategic importance to the country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This decision to privatize the airline opens the door for further consolidation within Europe\u2019s aviation industry, following Lufthansa\u2019s acquisition of a 41% stake in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=ITA+Airways\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ITA Airways<\/a>\u00a0(formerly Alitalia) and the agreement by International Consolidated Airlines Group, the parent company of British Airways, to purchase Spanish carrier Air Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned with us.
