IRELAND-<\/strong> Ryanair (FR) <\/a>had to cancel 870 flights in October due to the ongoing conflict between Israel<\/a> and Hamas. New statistics from the low-cost airline indicate a decline in passenger numbers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In October, they carried 17.1 million passengers, which represented a 9 percent increase compared to the same month in 2022 but was slightly lower than the 17.3 million passengers carried in September 2023, as reported by City AM.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryanair Cancels 870 Flights and Other Too<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This development follows shortly after a court ruling mandated that Ryanair pay over \u00a32 million to package holiday companies for flight cancellations related to the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a protracted legal battle, On The Beach prevailed in the High Court, leading to a verdict that obligated Ryanair to cover the costs of refunds issued by package holiday providers during the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judgment delivered on Tuesday determined that Ryanair had gained an unfair advantage<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judge’s decision stipulated that the compensation sought pertains to the expenses incurred in refunding travelers for package holidays when Ryanair canceled or made significant alterations to the flights included in those packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
