ABU DHABI-<\/strong> The second flag carrier of UAE, Etihad Airways (EY)<\/a>, has introduced a third daily Airbus A380<\/a> superjumbo flight between London Heathrow (LHR) <\/a>and Abu Dhabi (AUH) <\/a>in response to rising customer demand. This move increases the capacity for this route to four daily flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UAE carrier’s A380 features a configuration that includes 68 economy space seats, 337 economy smart seats, 70 Business Studios on the upper deck, nine first-class apartments, and a three-room suite, along with a bar, lounge area, and shower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etihad A380 London Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ed Fotheringham, the Vice President of Global Sales, expressed, “The addition of our third A380 for London flights is excellent news for our passengers.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This aircraft enhances capacity between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow and is strategically scheduled to facilitate further connections between the UK, the UAE, and destinations throughout Etihad’s expanding global network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the Abu Dhabi-London Heathrow route was serviced by the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-1000 aircraft<\/a>, known for its advanced features and comfort. However, Etihad Airways enhanced the travel experience by reintroducing the spacious A380 on this route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This announcement marks the return of the A380 to Etihad Airways\u2019 fleet after a hiatus since March 2020. The airline has undertaken a comprehensive service program to ensure that the aircraft is fully airworthy and ready for service following its period of inactivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four of the A380 aircraft will be reintroduced on the Abu Dhabi-London route in 2023. These aircraft have undergone extensive maintenance to ensure they meet the highest safety standards and deliver an exceptional flying experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etihad Aviation Group\u2019s Chairman, His Excellency Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, expressed his delight at the return of the magnificent A380 aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted that reintroducing the A380 would significantly enhance Etihad\u2019s capacity in the important UK market, consequently benefiting the wider GCC and Indian subcontinent regions and attracting more visitors to Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves acknowledged the anticipation of their guests, who are avid fans of the incredible A380 and its award-winning cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best-In-Class Offerings on A380<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Etihad\u2019s A380 aircraft offer various cabin classes, including The Residence, 9 First Apartments, 70 Business Studios, and 405 Economy Smart Seats. This includes 80 Economy Space seats with a generous seat pitch of up to 36 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nine First Apartments, positioned across a single aisle, provide passengers with an exclusive living space. Each apartment features a spacious leather lounge chair and an ottoman that can be transformed into a fully flat bed measuring 80.5\u2033 in length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The First Apartment boasts ample room and amenities, such as a 24\u2033 swiveling LCD TV monitor and a personal vanity unit. Etihad also plans to introduce The Residence as an optional add-on to elevate the First Class experience further.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For guests traveling in First and Business class, The Lobby serves as a serviced lounge and bar area situated between the two cabins. Here, passengers can relax on comfortable leather sofas, enjoy refreshments, and watch content on a large TV with USB connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
