DELHI-<\/strong> CDB Aviation, an Irish subsidiary fully owned by China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Limited (“CDB Leasing”), has officially announced the delivery of the first Airbus A320neo aircraft<\/a> from a total fleet of six to Air India (AI)<\/a>, a leading global airline in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2022, CDB Aviation made history as one of the earliest aircraft leasing companies to secure the placement of additional A320neo aircraft for Air India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India A320neo Delivery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These aircraft will support Air India’s comprehensive transformation initiative, which was launched after its acquisition by the Tata Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By integrating the A320neo into its fleet, Air India aims to significantly reduce its carbon emissions, contributing to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future for India’s aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter Goodman, Chief Marketing Officer at CDB Aviation<\/strong>, emphasized the importance of the Indian market, highlighting its rapid growth in the global aviation sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that India is the second-largest Asian market for new aircraft deliveries, with nearly 1,000 aircraft on order<\/strong> from Boeing <\/a>and Airbus<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CDB Aviation’s commercial team worked closely with Air India to fulfill their fleet needs with these new Airbus narrowbody aircraft from the company’s order book, and they are confident that these aircraft will play a crucial role in Air India’s multi-stage transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional Lease from CALC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In October 2023, China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC), a comprehensive provider of aircraft solutions for the global aviation industry, handed over the initial Airbus A320neo aircraft<\/a> from a total order of nine to Air India (AI)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This agreement signifies a strategic collaboration between CALC and Air India, a premier global airline in India, aimed at supporting the airline\u2019s fleet modernization efforts to meet the rising market demand with cutting-edge, fuel-efficient aircraft<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This delivery signifies a significant step in the relationship with Air India as it returns to Tata Group ownership. All nine aircraft are part of CALC\u2019s pre-existing order, featuring CFM LEAP-1A engines<\/a>, and they will be handed over incrementally during 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration between CALC and Air India dates back to 2015 when the airline introduced five new Airbus <\/a>A320ceo aircraft from CALC through operating leases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent months, the CALC Group has extended its global presence, establishing a footprint in Central Asia, Africa<\/a>, and Oceania. As of June 30, 2023, its customer base has grown to encompass 42 airlines in 20 countries and regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
