Hobby Airport (HOU) in <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Houston\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Houston <\/a>experienced a closure lasting over three hours on Tuesday due to a runway incident involving two private planes <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=Collision\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">colliding <\/a>with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=FAA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)<\/a>, a private jet took off without proper clearance and collided with another private jet in the process of landing. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and the number of individuals on board these planes remains unknown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"592\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image-172.png\" alt=\"HOUSTON- William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) in Houston experienced a closure lasting over three hours on Tuesday due to a runway incident involving two private planes colliding with each other.\" class=\"wp-image-49420\" style=\"width:979px;height:551px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image-172.png 592w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image-172-300x169.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 592px) 100vw, 592px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-planes-collided-at-houston-airport\">Planes Collided at Houston Airport<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 3:30 p.m., all flight operations at the airport were temporarily halted, and airport authorities declared Hobby&#8217;s closure &#8220;until further notice.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subsequently, at just past 7 p.m., the airport announced the resumption of flight operations, reported <em>KHOU<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An aviation specialist expressed that the situation had the potential to become a significant disaster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Fortunately, the planes did not collide directly, or else we would be discussing an entirely different catastrophe,&#8221; stated Oliver Brown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Brown, a former commercial pilot with aviation expertise, noted the damage&#8217;s extent and observed that the impact appeared to be severe. He believed that the departing aircraft&#8217;s speed made it impossible to abort the takeoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It involved contact from wing to rudder. It will be interesting to understand whether the pilots attempted to abort or executed some evasive maneuvers,&#8221; Brown remarked. &#8220;This outcome is remarkably fortunate. Such an incident is one of the most serious infractions involving pilots.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the incident, the airport was placed on a complete ground stop while FAA officials conducted the necessary assessments and checks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By 5 p.m., airport authorities reported that 11 flights had been redirected, and <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=American+Airlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Airlines (AA)<\/a> had canceled four flights, with six flights being rerouted to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/image-174-1024x576.png\" alt=\"HOUSTON- William P.
