This aircraft had just arrived from Los Angeles.

According to multiple accounts, the occurrence transpired during the process of passengers disembarking. A flight safety analyst posted a snapshot of the incident on Twitter with the username ‘JADEC.’

The image depicts the airplane appearing to tilt backward on its tail, with airport personnel, baggage tractors, and a small number of bystanders present, some of whom were capturing the incident with their cameras.

United Airlines has reassured that no injuries occurred during the incident, attributing the backward tipping of the aircraft to a weight imbalance.

In their statement, United Airlines explained,

“United flight 2509, traveling from Los Angeles, California to Lewiston, Idaho, landed safely. Nevertheless, the aircraft’s tail tilted backward due to a shift in the weight and balance during the unloading process. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries from ground personnel, passengers, or crew.”

It has been reported that as a consequence of this incident, United Airlines had to cancel the aircraft’s upcoming flight to Houston. Furthermore, it was noted that the aircraft was carrying the USC Trojan Football team, who had traveled from Los Angeles to Pullman, Washington, for a match against the Washington State Cougars.

As is often the case, social media users swiftly picked up on the incident. Some users suggested preventive measures, with one individual proposing, “Aircraft holds should be unloaded starting from the aft hold and then the forward hold to prevent this type of occurrence.”

Stay tuned with us.
