BRAZIL-<\/strong> American Airlines (AA)<\/a> has officially placed an order for four new E175 aircraft with Embraer<\/a>. Envoy Air, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Airlines, will operate these planes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deliveries for all four E175s are expected in the fourth quarter of 2024. This addition will further expand Envoy Air’s E-Jet fleet, bringing it to over 150 aircraft by the end of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The firm order has a list price of US$230.6 million and will be included in Embraer’s backlog for the third quarter of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pedro F\u00e1bregas, the President & CEO of Envoy, expressed his enthusiasm about these new aircraft, highlighting that they will support the growth of American Airlines and contribute to providing exceptional and reliable services to their passengers in the evolving U.S. domestic and regional markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis latest order reaffirms the E175’s pivotal role in enhancing connectivity throughout the United States and signifies a positive shift in the market’s dynamics,” commented Martyn Holmes, CCO of Embraer Commercial Aviation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The E175 has been the linchpin of the U.S. regional network, with more than 620 units sold and an 86% market share since 2013. We express our gratitude to American Airlines and Envoy for their longstanding collaboration with Embraer.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The E175 was introduced into service in North America<\/a> back in 2005 and has since risen to prominence in the sector, owing to its passenger comfort, exceptional performance, and operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers appreciate the two-by-two seating arrangement characteristic of Embraer aircraft, which means no one is stuck in a middle seat. The global E170\/E175 fleet has amassed over 19.5 million flight hours, and Envoy alone has accounted for 1.3 million of these hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
