TEL AVIV-<\/strong> Tata-owned Air India (AI) <\/a>has decided to prolong the suspension of its regular flights to and from Tel Aviv (TLV)<\/a> until October 18 due to the ongoing conflict involving Israel and the militant group Hamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Normally, the full-service carrier runs five weekly scheduled flights to Tel Aviv, and the services were initially suspended until October 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Tel Aviv<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An airline representative mentioned on Saturday that the suspension of scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv has now been extended until October 18. The airline will continue to operate charter flights as needed to repatriate Indian citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Typically, Air India conducts five weekly flights from the national capital to Tel Aviv, with services available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the government’s Operation Ajay, aimed at repatriating Indians from Israel<\/a>, Air India has already operated two flights for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s worth noting that Israel initiated a substantial counteroffensive in response to the unprecedented attacks on Israeli cities carried out by Hamas militants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas A380 Repatriation Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flag carrier of Australia, Qantas Airways (QF)<\/a>, has scheduled an Airbus A380 <\/a>flight from London (LHR) <\/a>to Sydney (SYD) <\/a>to assist in repatriating Australians facing travel difficulties in Israel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially, the airline will deploy a smaller Boeing 787-9 aircraft<\/a> to transport Australians from Tel Aviv (TLV)<\/a> to London, with two confirmed services set for today and Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Foreign Minister Penny Wong has announced that the federal government will organize at least two more charter flights from Ben Gurion Airport to Dubai <\/a>in addition to those already arranged by Qantas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s estimated that approximately 12,000 Australian citizens are currently in Israel, although it\u2019s worth noting that many of them might hold dual citizenship and may not choose to leave the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade noted the situation\u2019s extremely dynamic and challenging nature. The Australian Government is actively engaged in facilitating the swift departure of Australians who wish to leave, which may involve organizing additional assisted-departure flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
