BENGALURU-<\/strong> Akasa Air (QP)<\/a>, the youngest Indian airline currently facing financial challenges, has decided to suspend its flights connecting Bengaluru (BLR)<\/a> to Chennai (MAA)<\/a> and Hyderabad (HYD) <\/a>due to operational issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This sudden cancellation has left several passengers who had pre-booked tickets on these routes waiting for their refunds. Moreover, it’s expected that the airline will cancel more flight operations from Bengaluru in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akasa Air Suspends Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before this suspension, Akasa Air was operating two daily flights to Chennai and one daily flight to Hyderabad, reported TOI<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) have confirmed that one of Akasa Air’s Bengaluru-Hyderabad flights was halted abruptly several weeks ago, leaving numerous passengers who had already purchased tickets for this route in a difficult situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, Gaurav Chauhan from Noida, who had reserved a seat on the Bengaluru-Hyderabad flight scheduled for September 15, expressed his frustration on social media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He mentioned that he was still waiting for a full refund, as the airline had deducted a cancellation fee despite having initiated the refund process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operational and Financial Issues<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After the cancellation of several routes, including Bengaluru to Hyderabad and Bengaluru to Chennai, by Akasa Air, it appears that operational challenges have prompted these changes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the Bengaluru-Kochi route has also been experiencing difficulties, with frequent flight cancellations and rescheduling, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources indicate that more flights between Bengaluru and other destinations may face suspension in the upcoming weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akasa Air, having commenced its operations in August 2022, recorded revenue from operations amounting to \u20b9698 crore as of March 31, 2023. However, during the same period, its expenses reached \u20b91,522 crore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On average, the company generated a daily revenue of \u20b91.91 crore. Unfortunately, this low-cost carrier reported a substantial net loss of \u20b9744 crore for the financial year, reported BusinessLine<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
