DELHI-<\/strong> IndiGo (6E)<\/a>, India’s preferred airline, inaugurated its daily direct flight between Delhi and Belagavi on Thursday, October 5, 2023. This newly established air route will enhance point-to-point connectivity and strengthen the connections between northern and southern India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the oldest airport in northern Karnataka, Belagavi Airport (IXG) <\/strong>represents a significant step forward in improving regional connectivity and offering travel options for both business and leisure passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inaugural Event<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus<\/a> A320 6E-2378, a 180-seater aircraft, took off from Delhi at 3:58 pm and landed in Belagavi at 5:55 pm, carrying 116 passengers (65%). On the return journey, the same flight, 6E-2379, departed from Belagavi at 6:54 pm and arrived in Delhi at 9:00 pm, with 134 passengers (75%) on its inaugural day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\/s meticulously coordinated an intimate event. IndiGo in collaboration with Belagavi Airport (IXG), the Airports Authority of India (AAI), and the Belagavi Core Development Group. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event commenced with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, the lighting of a sacred diya candle, and a cake-cutting ceremony attended by the esteemed guests, including Hon\u2019ble MP RS Iranna Kadadi, MP LS Smt. Mangal Suresh Angadi, MLC Prakash Hukkeri, Belagavi North MLA Asif Sait, and Belagavi Airport Director Thyagarajan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akshay Patil, a pilot based in Belagavi and a first officer with IndiGo, delivered a 1-minute and 20-second announcement in Kannada during the event, expressing gratitude to MP Iranna Kadadi for his diligent efforts in establishing this flight connection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of pilots hailing from North Karnataka, Akshay also requested MP Mangala Angadi to consider renaming Belagavi Airport as Kittur Rani Chennamma Airport, a proposal she assured to pursue actively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
