The terminal used by Spirit and Frontier at <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=LaGuardia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LaGuardia Airport (LGA)<\/a> has been flooded due to the excessive water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LaGuardia&#8217;s Terminal A, which houses the two low-cost carriers, has been temporarily closed, and the airport announced it would remain closed until further notice. The average delay at JFK International Airport exceeded three hours, while LaGuardia Airport experienced delays of over two hours, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=FAA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FAA<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Streets were flooded across New York City, and subway service was &#8220;extremely limited&#8221; due to the&nbsp;torrential rains, which interrupted commuters and travelers across the region. Meteorologists forecasted that New Yorkers would see between&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/themessenger.com\/news\/nyc-flooding-friday-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">three and five inches of rain<\/a>&nbsp;on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 12% of flights into JFK International were on time Friday as of 1 p.m. local time, according to Anuvu\u2019s Pulse&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pulse2.anuvu.com\/public-dashboard\/USindustrydashboard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dashboard<\/a>. According to FlightAware, a flight-tracking service, JFK had three dozen flight cancelations, with more than 120 at LaGuardia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of 2 p.m. ET, 425 flights were canceled at the three major New York airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among airlines (AA), Delta (DL) canceled nearly 3% of its flights Friday, along with 20% of flights by Republic Airways, a regional carrier for Delta with a large concentration of its flights in New York. Additionally, the heavy rainfall resulted in 15 diverted flights at the three major New York airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This downpour on Friday followed a series of rainy days, with rain occurring on four out of the previous five days, saturating the ground in New York earlier in the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned with us.
