BARBADOS-<\/strong> On World Tourism Day, a grand celebration took place to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Virgin Atlantic (VS)<\/a> direct service to Barbados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The special 25th-anniversary flight, featuring Sir Richard Branson, the visionary owner of Virgin Atlantic, arrived at Grantley Adams International Airport. Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley and Shelly Williams, Chair of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc (BTMI), welcomed the flight with warmth and festivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shelly Williams expressed excitement about this milestone and the enduring partnership between Virgin Atlantic and Barbados. She emphasized the island’s appeal to travelers worldwide and the commitment to showcasing Barbados’s warmth and beauty for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate this achievement, a special press conference was held at Sea Breeze Hotel, attended by key representatives from Virgin Atlantic and BTMI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marsha Alleyne, Chief Product Development Officer, highlighted the importance of the partnership with Virgin Atlantic in making Barbados accessible to UK visitors, the island’s primary source market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also eagerly anticipated the arrival of Virgin Atlantic’s new Airbus A330neo<\/a>, designed to offer a premium and personalized experience for travelers en route to Barbados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Establishing Regional Travel Connections<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Barbados and Virgin Atlantic’s partnership commenced in 1998 and has consistently grown stronger over the past two decades. Over the years, capacity has increased, and new fleets have been introduced, solidifying Barbados as a key travel hub for the Eastern Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recognizing the limited flight connections within the Eastern Caribbean, Virgin Atlantic is enthusiastic about providing reliable services to Grenada, Saint Vincent, and the Grenadines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline believes that offering these local multi-island options will benefit travelers and contribute to the Barbados economy. Chief Commercial Officer Juha J\u00e4rvinen expressed the airline’s commitment to continuing this partnership for the next 25 years on the beautiful island of Barbados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic operates daily year-round flights to Barbados from London Heathrow<\/a>, providing 264 seats and an upper-class capacity that has grown from 16 seats to 31 seats. Additionally, the airline offers flights from Manchester three times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Virgin Atlantic and BTMI have maintained a strong partnership aimed at showcasing Barbados as a top-tier tourist destination, emphasizing world-class service, stunning landscapes, and memorable experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
