CHICAGO-<\/strong> As of now, United Airlines (UA)<\/a> has decided against commencing scheduled flights between Chicago (ORD) <\/a>and South Africa in March of the upcoming year. Although reports had initially indicated plans for United Airlines to launch flights between Chicago and Johannesburg in March 2024, this development has been shelved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This decision, which was expected to benefit South Africa’s tourism sector potentially, means there won’t be any scheduled flights between Chicago and Johannesburg next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Delays Chicago to South Africa Launch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

An inside source at United Airlines has confirmed that the launch of flights between Chicago and Johannesburg will not be happening next year. Long-distance flights connecting Chicago and Johannesburg are not part of United Airlines’ plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reports suggest that United Airlines already offers well-timed flights from Washington and New York to South Africa, providing convenient connections for passengers from various locations across the USA. This existing flight schedule negates the need for additional flights from Chicago at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0If you choose a flight with a stopover, you can fly from Chicago O’hare to Cape Town (CPT)<\/a> in 19 hours and to Johannesburg in 20 hours and 45 minutes<\/a> via United Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Airlines currently operates scheduled flights from two cities in the United States to two destinations in South Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights from Newark International Airport to Johannesburg, New York, and flights from Washington’s Dulles International Airport to Cape Town are part of their existing routes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If there is an increase in passenger demand from the USA, the airline may consider expanding the frequency of these flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
