NEW YORK-<\/strong> OAG, the leading travel data analyst site, has named London Heathrow (LHR)<\/a> and New York (JFK) Airport <\/a>the world’s most internationally connected airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, OAG unveiled Megahubs 2023, providing the definitive ranking of the Top 50 airports with the highest international connectivity worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London New York Airport Most Internationally Connected<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) has once again secured its top-ranking status as the world’s most internationally connected airport. British Airways (BA)<\/a> maintains its dominant presence with a 50% share of the flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York climbed to the second position among Global Megahubs. At the same time, Istanbul Airport (IST) made an entry into the Top 10, securing the seventh spot. Turkish Airlines (TK)<\/a> holds a commanding 79% share of flights at Istanbul Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Grant, Chief Analyst at OAG, commented on the OAG Megahubs findings, emphasizing the enduring importance of international connectivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted the resurgence of London Heathrow and the remarkable growth of Asian hubs like Kuala Lumpur, highlighting airports’ global adaptability and resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the rise of John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to the second position, he attributed this achievement to various factors, including the expansion of American Airlines (AA)<\/a> and Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> destination offerings from New York, as well as the entry or reopening of routes by airlines like Air Senegal and Air New Zealand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grant noted that this resurgence of key international hubs signifies a strong presence for North American Megahubs and reflects the ongoing recovery in the aviation industry as global capacity rebounds to nearly 98% of pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
