HONOLULU-<\/strong> Travelers from both the Bay Area and Los Angeles who are considering a Hawaiian vacation will have the opportunity to be among the first to enjoy the refined and island-inspired design and comfort of Hawaiian Airlines (HA)<\/a> new Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft<\/a>, set to debut next spring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline, deeply rooted in Hawaii, has commenced ticket sales for its 787-9 planes, which will initially operate on routes between Hawai\u02bbi and San Francisco (SFO<\/a>) as well as Los Angeles (LAX)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian First Boeing 787 Ticket Sale<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines’ state-of-the-art flagship aircraft is scheduled to make its inaugural flight on April 15, commencing daily service between Honolulu (HNL) and San Francisco until May 14. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, select flights between Honolulu<\/a> and Los Angeles are set to commence on May 14, followed by routes connecting Maui (OGG) and Los Angeles starting on May 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers boarding Hawaiian’s 787 will step into a cabin that captures the essence of Hawai\u02bbi’s natural beauty through striking textures, calming lighting reminiscent of sunrise and sunset, and the graceful ocean and wind patterns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This 300-seat aircraft showcases Hawaiian’s latest premium offering, known as Leih\u014dk\u016b Suites, which translates to “garland of stars.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These 34 suites provide passengers with a serene environment featuring fully reclining seats, generous 18-inch in-flight entertainment screens, personal power outlets, wireless cell phone charging capabilities, and direct access to the aisle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Configured in a 1-2-1 layout and equipped with doors, the suites offer a choice between privacy or a shared experience, with the option to combine adjacent double suites, allowing couples to slumber beneath a starlit ceiling inspired by the constellations that guided early Polynesian navigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brand New Leih\u014dk\u016b Suites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the creation of its Leih\u014dk\u016b Suites, Hawaiian Airlines made history by becoming the first airline to collaborate with Adient Aerospace, a joint venture between the Boeing Company and Adient, a global leader in automotive seating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian’s 787 Main Cabin is furnished with 266 Collins Aerospace Aspire lightweight seats featuring ergonomically contoured backrests and armrests, optimizing seat space, offering more shoulder and hip room, and incorporating a 12-inch seatback screen equipped with USB-A and USB-C charging ports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every facet of the design within Hawaiian’s 787 pays tribute to the skilled navigators who traversed the Pacific by navigating through the stars, sun, winds, waves, and wildlife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline partnered with design consultants from Teague to bring to life Hawaiian’s vision of commemorating Pacific exploration within a modern aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each aspect of the interior design honors the pristine environment of Hawai\u02bbi, with wall panels portraying the textures of native wood, lavatory floors inspired by glistening black volcanic sand, and ‘\u014clelo Hawai\u02bbi (the Hawaiian language) incorporated into seat row numbers and other signage. Laminates and fabrics reflect the shapes of native Hawaiian plants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comfort at Best<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The 787 offers improved cabin air filtration, and its carbon-fiber composite structure allows for a lower cabin altitude during travel, resulting in a more comfortable flight experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers will also appreciate the quiet cabin ambiance, thanks to acoustic-treated engine inlets, spacious overhead bins, extra-large dimmable windows, and touchless activation features for lavatory toilets and faucets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines will receive its first 12 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners in January, with additional deliveries planned through 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
