DENVER-<\/strong> Two prominent airlines in the United States<\/a> (Frontier) and Canada (WestJet) are set to enhance their schedules for increased flight service to popular Mexico destinations during the upcoming winter season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the United States, the budget-friendly airline Frontier Airlines has expanded its winter schedule to include Canc\u00fan. Beginning on November 16, Frontier Airlines (F9)<\/a> will operate direct flights from three U.S. cities to Canc\u00fan International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frontier WestJet Mexico Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These cities include Detroit, Minneapolis, and Chicago<\/a>, and the daily non-stop flights are subject to government approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Shurz, Vice President at Frontier Airlines, emphasized the convenience and accessibility of planning tropical getaways as winter approaches, highlighting the ease of reaching these destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WestJet (WS)<\/a>, the Canadian airline, is set to boost its capacity to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, by 19%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This expansion includes flights originating from various Canadian cities such as Abbotsford, Calgary, Comox, Kelowna, Edmonton, Regina, Saskatoon, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, and Winnipeg, offering a diverse array of options for travelers across Canada <\/a>to plan their winter vacations in Mexico. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to this, WestJet introduced a new weekly route connecting Prince George to Puerto Vallarta in July and is reinstating services to both Mazatl\u00e1n and Los Cabos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, WestJet offers the highest number of routes to Puerto Vallarta from Canada. According to Aviaci\u00f3n 21, the airline operated up to 183 flights per month during the previous winter season and plans to increase this to 212 per month for the autumn-winter season of 2023-24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This capacity expansion coincides with WestJet’s transition to utilizing larger Boeing <\/a>787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and its acquisition of low-cost competitor Sunwing. It’s important to note that the U.S. and Canada are the primary sources of tourists to Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Newly Launched Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines (DL) <\/strong><\/a>has announced the launch of a new route from Boston to Mexico City. With daily service starting from December 21, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement was made on the occasion of Cinco de Mayo, and a spokesperson for the airline confirmed that the service would operate from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Mexico City International Airport (MEX).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta Air Lines will operate a new route to Mexico City from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) beginning December 21, 2023. A Boeing<\/a> 757-200 aircraft with domestic recliners in business class will serve the route daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting on November 4, American Airlines (AA) will begin a new daily route from Mexico City International Airport<\/a> (MEX) to New York JFK Airport (JFK). The new route will work for one daily flight on a Boeing 737 aircraft, with a capacity for travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scheduled expansion in the Mexican market represents a setback in Colombia. Before this route, American Airlines <\/a>will cease its daily service from JFK to Bogot\u00e1 El Dorado International Airport (BOG) on November 3. That month, American <\/a>will also end its services to Cali (CLO) and Medellin (MDE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
