BOSTON-<\/strong> BermudAir (2T) <\/a>has postponed its inaugural flights to the USA <\/a>due to Hurricane Franklin, and the new launch date is set for September 1st. The airline, positioned as a “business-class short-haul airline,” originally intended to commence operations on August 31st. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in light of the weather conditions brought about by Hurricane Franklin, the first day of flights was canceled. This decision was made in conjunction with Skyport, the entity responsible for managing Bermuda’s LF Wade International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BermudaAir Delays USA Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bermudair’s initial routes were designed to connect Bermuda with Boston (BOS)<\/a> and Westchester County Airport near New York City<\/a>. The airline has taken steps to rebook passengers accordingly in light of the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of August 31st, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reported that Hurricane Franklin had maximum sustained winds of 87 knots (161 km\/h) and was positioned approximately 230 nautical miles (426 km) northeast of Bermuda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NOAA indicated that Franklin is moving away from Bermuda and is expected to transform into an “extratropical” storm system in the next few days, which refers to a tropical storm merging with a cold front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bermudair’s initial flight operations to Boston and New York are scheduled to occur once daily, six days a week, with plans to increase the frequency to twice daily, six days a week, starting September 15th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the regional carrier intends to launch flights from Bermuda to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida <\/a>on September 22nd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BermudAir Founder and CEO Adam Scott expressed enthusiasm for the launch, highlighting the airline\u2019s role as Bermuda\u2019s pioneer carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized the commitment to bridging seasonal service gaps and ensuring consistent connectivity to and from the island throughout autumn. Scott remarked,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embraer E175 Operator<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

BermudAir will initiate a gradual rollout of its innovative services, beginning with the deployment of Embraer <\/a>E175 aircraft in a phased manner. The initial configuration will consist of 88 standard seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, for each flight, only 44 seats will be made available for purchase. These seats offer window and aisle access and ample room for carry-on bags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, this design ensures a roomy and comfortable inflight journey for passengers. The flights will feature complimentary Wi-Fi and entertainment options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, travelers will enjoy the convenience of at least one checked bag at no extra charge, with the possibility of more depending on the fare category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
