SINGAPORE-<\/strong> Tata group-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> is set to take three Ex Singapore Airlines (SQ)<\/a> Boeing 777 on lease to bolster its fleet modernization plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this, the airline plans to phase out its older Boeing <\/a>777-200s that they took delivery in 2009. Further, the aircraft has drawn passenger fury over the years due to outdated cabins<\/a>, including crumbling seats, broken lavatories, and malfunctioning seat-back entertainment screens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Leased Singapore 777 Seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The three Boeing 777-300 ER planes, which were retired by Singapore Airlines in 2021 as part of post-COVID-19 fleet adjustments, are well-maintained and boast four-class cabins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This feature is particularly noteworthy as it aligns with Air India\u2019s goal to enhance passenger experience during ultra-long flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aviation A2Z<\/a><\/em> sources say these planes are parked at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)<\/a>. Further, they have the registration 9V-SVK, 9V-SVM and 9V-SVN<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft’s configuration comprises 4 First Class seats, 48 Business Class seats, 28 Premium Economy seats, and 184 Economy seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similar to the former Delta Air Lines (DL) and Etihad (EY) Boeing 777 aircraft, there’s a possibility that Air India may incorporate these airframes as well, making minor alterations to the onboard experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s worth noting that these seats represent a substantial enhancement over the conventional fleet in terms of comfort and offerings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why AI leasing 777-300ER?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
