WASHINGTON D.C.-<\/strong> Flag carrier Kuwait Airways (KU)<\/a> is reintroducing flights to a Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)<\/a> that has remained inactive for over six years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has filed schedules to launch a service between Kuwait City International Airport (KWI) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), with operations commencing on December 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuwait Airways Washington Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flights will be available three times per week, utilizing Airbus <\/a>A330-800neo aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KWI-IAD route has been devoid of nonstop flights since United Airlines ceased operations in January 2016 after nearly a decade of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kuwait Airways’ forthcoming route will cover a significant distance of 6,558 miles (5,699 nautical miles), making it the longest in the airline’s network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This service will also set a remarkable record as the world’s longest route to be operated by an A330-800neo aircraft, reports Aviation24.be<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Meeting Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kuwait Airways convened its Annual General Meetings (AGM) for the fiscal year that concluded on December 31, 2022. During this assembly, the general body granted approval to all items on the agenda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This encompassed endorsing the financial and administrative reports and addressing the postponement of certain obligations associated with various government entities. These obligations had proven challenging to collect in preceding fiscal periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address at the Annual General Meetings, Captain Ali Al-Dukhan, the Chairman of Kuwait Airways, expressed, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Board of Directors has remained steadfast in its commitment to advancing all services provided, aiming to uphold the company’s distinctiveness and strengthen its competitive standing, not only within the region but also in the broader aviation domain. The fiscal year ending on December 31, 2022, stands out as one of Kuwait Airways’ most successful years, marked by the attainment of targeted objectives and the collective efforts of its dedicated workforce. The company continues to march forward with its strategic plans and systemic enhancements.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Al-Dukhan highlighted that in 2022, Kuwait Airways had strategically incorporated plans to amplify its global network by introducing novel routes and destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company successfully initiated operations on 10 fresh routes, encompassing cities like Madrid, Manchester, Mykonos, Sarajevo, Izmir, Salalah, Hyderabad, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, and Casablanca. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, Kuwait Airways played a pivotal role in facilitating daily flights dedicated to transporting fans to the World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
