As per Boeing’s orders and deliveries data, United’s order book comprises a total of 445 737 MAX family jets.

It’s important to highlight that United’s initial MAX 10 test aircraft made its debut flight relatively recently.

The third test aircraft, displaying United’s distinctive livery and identified by the registration N27753, became part of Boeing’s extensive fleet of airborne aircraft on November 18, 2022, completing a flight lasting more than one hour.

Photo: Boeing Airplanes

Latest Update on Type Certification

During the inaugural flight of the 737 MAX 10, Boeing initially projected that this latest addition to the MAX aircraft family would commence operational service in 2023.

However, this expected timeline has encountered delays due to certification and supply chain challenges. As a result, the formal certification process is likely to take place in 2024.

Despite these hurdles, Boeing has garnered significant orders for the MAX 10. The company has plans to increase production levels from 31 to 50 aircraft per month over the upcoming years.

Presently, the Renton plant features three assembly lines, and Boeing intends to introduce a fourth MAX assembly line at its Everett, Washington, facility.

In May 2023, Ryanair (FR), Boeing’s prominent customer outside of the US, unveiled an order for up to 300 737 MAX 10s, encompassing 150 confirmed orders and an option for an additional 150 units for delivery spanning from 2027 to 2033.

This announcement follows Delta Air Lines (DL) order from the previous year for 100 MAX 10s and an option to acquire 30 more.

Stay tuned with us.
