UNITED KINGDOM-<\/strong> Monarch Airlines (ZB), which faced bankruptcy in 2017, unveiled a new website, sparking speculation of a potential restart and return to the UK skies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A website is now live for the ‘new’ Monarch Airlines, featuring a “coming soon” <\/strong>message and tantalizing hints about the development of a fresh Monarch experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monarch Airlines Restart<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The website incorporates the original Monarch Airlines logo and the iconic Crown emblem while inviting media inquiries for further details, reports UK Aviation<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monarch Airlines Limited has also updated its address to 960 Capability Green Luton, a serviced office location near Luton Airport (LTN), raising questions about the existence of actual physical office space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this moment, it’s more about sparking excitement among Monarch enthusiasts. Establishing an airline is a complex endeavor, and it’s not yet evident whether this company has acquired assets like the airline’s intellectual property, such as the logo and name. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems peculiar that they wouldn’t secure the original Monarch domain name if they were investing in such resources. The individuals behind this initiative aren’t widely recognized in the airline industry, although Daniel Ellingham had a role on a Swiss Air advisory panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent tweet, the Twitter account @SPD_Travels<\/em> has expressed their intention to commence operations within this year, even though they haven’t submitted an application for an Air Operator\u2019s Certificate (AOC) yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should they succeed in obtaining their AOC and launch operations, it could bring advantages as well as introduce certain competitive dynamics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following their financial troubles in 2017, both TUI and Jet2 have been able to fill the void, particularly after the Thomas Cook bankruptcy further shifted the landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monarch just before ceasing its operation used to operate Airbus A320, A321, Boeing 737-800. Further it has placed an order for 45 Boeing 737 MAX, which were expected to deliver from Q2 of 2018. However, it filed for bankruptcy in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn’t the first instance of a Phoenix airline emerging. Flybe (BE)<\/strong>, which faced bankruptcy in 2020, made a return to the skies in 2022, only to encounter another bankruptcy less than a year later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, numerous airlines are in the process of launching, yet less than one in ten actually manage to take off successfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Richard Branson famously stated, “If you want to be a millionaire, start with a billion dollars and launch a new airline.” So, financial resources play a pivotal role in any airline venture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monarch Airlines Limited only has around \u00a31 in its accounts so it will require substantial investment from deep-pocketed backers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, it might not be realistic to anticipate the iconic Crown-adorned aircraft appearing at an airport near you anytime soon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, these recent developments might provide a glimmer of hope, albeit a faint one, for devoted fans of the airline, offering the potential prospect of witnessing the majestic Monarch aircraft once again gracing UK airport runways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
