DELHI-<\/strong> Tata-owned Indian FSC, Air India (AI)<\/a>, is set to receive the final Ex-Delta Air Lines (DL)<\/a> Boeing <\/a>777. This will be the fifth Ex-Delta aircraft that AI inducts into its fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline took delivery of Four Ex-Delta Boeing 777-200LRs between Nov 2022 and Feb 2023. Subsequently, the airline deploys them to serve the US Destinations from Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM), and Bengaluru (BLR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Takes Final 777<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to FlightRadar24, the plane having registration VT-AEI took off from Singapore (SIN) <\/a>at around 3:45 PM IST. After being airborne for almost five hours, it landed safely in Delhi at around 8:57 PM IST<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Planespotters, the aircraft has the registration VT-AEI and has been named UDAY. Further, it is 14.3 years old and was delivered to Delta back in 2009. The aircraft is being taken on lease from DHL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VT-AEI has also been part of Mammoth Freighters, Jetran, and DHL fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now let us see other ex-delta aircraft details that are now part of the Air India fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) VT-AEF, Delivered in November 2022 and has the name VIHAAN<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2) VT-AEG was delivered in Same Nov 2022, named PRABHAT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3) VT-AEH was delivered on Jan 2023, named ALOK<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4) VT-AEE, Delivered in Feb 2023, and is named AVIJIT<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those 5 Boeing aircraft are old B777-200 LRs of Delta Airlines<\/strong>. These 200LRs are very interesting aircraft, and there are only 61 ever built <\/strong>by Boeing company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft has premium economy class<\/strong> along with 3 other standard classes. The Ex-Delta aircraft has been modified and is having one of the best Cabin retrofits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other Aircraft Carriers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Indian FSC Air India (AI) has secured a lease of six ex-Etihad (EY)<\/a> Boeing 777-300ER. Further, on August 3, 2023, it took delivery of the first of six 777s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This move comes in addition to the existing 11 leased 777 aircraft and aims to facilitate the gradual phasing out of the older 777-200 planes that were inducted in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India also plans to induct three ex-Singaporean Airlines (SQ) operated aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three Boeing 777-300 ER planes, which were retired by Singapore Airlines in 2021 as part of post-COVID-19 fleet adjustments, are well-maintained and boast four-class cabins. This includes first class and premium economy sections, reported Economic Times<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This feature is particularly noteworthy as it aligns with Air India\u2019s goal to enhance passenger experience during ultra-long flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aviation A2Z<\/a><\/em> sources say these planes are parked at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). Further, they have the registration 9V-SVK, 9V-SVM and 9V-SVN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
