SEATTLE-<\/strong> Tata-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> to get 55 New Boeing<\/a> 737 MAX that was earlier designated to Chinese carrier, reports Leeham News<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of these 55, ten Boeing 737 MAX <\/a>have been transferred to Air India Express (AI)<\/a>, a low-cost subsidiary of Tata Air India Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These aircraft are included in the order that was initially revealed in February, encompassing a potential acquisition of up to 190 737 MAX aircraft. This order was formalized at the Paris Air Show<\/a> held in June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India 737 MAX Big Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Jet Arena<\/a><\/em>, Air India Express is set to receive a total of 10 Boeing 737 MAX airplanes. The designated aircraft are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  3. MSN 61636<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. MSN 61639<\/li>\n\n\n\n

  6. MSN 61647<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. MSN 61658<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. MSN 61655<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. MSN 61662<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. MSN 61660<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The first two aircraft, MSN 61409 and MSN 61411, were designated to Okay Airways (BK). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The subsequent three, MSN 61636, MSN 61639, and MSN 61650, were formerly announced for Shanghai Airlines (FM). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The remaining five aircraft, MSN 61647, MSN 61658, MSN 61655, MSN 61662, and MSN 61660, were previously designated for China Eastern Airlines (MU). It’s worth noting that all three of these airlines are based in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    More aircraft will likely be transferred to IX in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Delivery Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    According to Ch-aviation, Boeing will most likely deliver the first Boeing 737 MAX to AI in July or August of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Earlier this quarter, Air India started hiring pilots and operational crew for Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Further, Air India will utilize 737 MAXs for its subsidiary AIX Connect (IX), formed by the merger of Air India Express (IX) and Air Asia India (I5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Boeing Order Details<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Air India has also made a purchase agreement for 190 Boeing MAX aircraft. Along with 20 Dreamliners (787-9) and 10 777-9 planes from Boeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition to the confirmed order, Air India has the option to acquire 70 more Boeing aircraft. Consisting of 50 MAX planes and 20 Dreamliners. If this option is exercised, the total number of Boeing planes in the order will increase to 290.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Furthermore, GE Aerospace has received an order for 40 GEnx-1B and 20 GE9X engines. A multiyear engine services agreement has also been established for 20 Boeing 787 and 10 Boeing 777X aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Hiring Pilots<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Tata-owned Indian carrier Air India (AI), <\/a>on July 10, 2023, announced that they are hiring pilots for its upcoming Boeing 737 MAX <\/a>aircraft. Further, the airline shared all the venues and timings for its special hiring spree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The airline shared that it will conduct the mega hiring drive on its social media. Subsequently, it hires 737 MAX pilots for its low-cost subsidiary Air India Express (IX)<\/a>, now part of AIX Connect<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
