That has now been shortened to one day, and applies to all incoming\u00a0travelers, regardless of nationality of vaccination status.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em><strong>This tighter testing timeline provides an added degree of protection as scientists continue to study the Omicron variant<\/strong>,<\/em>\u201d US President Joe Biden said at a briefing on December 2, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White House also said masks will need to be worn on aircraft and other forms of public transportation until March 18, 2022.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"765\" height=\"510\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/covid-travel-II.jpg\" alt=\"US tightens COVID-19 testing rules for incoming travelers due to Omicron\" class=\"wp-image-426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/covid-travel-II.jpg 765w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/covid-travel-II-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/covid-travel-II-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/covid-travel-II-750x500.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 765px) 100vw, 765px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This tightened travel restrictions came as part of a winter package o.  Covid 19 measures\u00a0set out by the White House.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-long-haul-airlines\">Long haul Airlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After over 600 days of restrictions, the United States opened its borders to fully-vaccinated\u00a0travelers\u00a0from a range of countries\u00a0on November\u00a08, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move brought some welcome relief for European long-haul airlines for whom the transatlantic is a lucrative source of revenues.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Howsoever, the emergence of the Omicron variant has already prompted some countries to close their border.
