NEW YORK-<\/strong> Chicago-based United Airlines (UA)<\/a> flight from New York (JFK) to Punta Cana (PUJ) witnessed extreme turbulence<\/a>, which severely injured two cabin crew and one passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred when the flight was at 33,000 feet near Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Following this, the flight made an emergency landing at Myrtle Beach (MYR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United Flight Experienced Turbulence Injuring Crews and Passenger<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) system reported the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

United deployed its 14.5-year-old Boeing<\/a> 737-900ER to operate a flight registered as N77431. Now let us establish a flight timeline with the help of FlightRadar24 (FR24). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to FR24, United Flight UA2122 took off from John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) in New York <\/a>at 1:17 AM UTC. After being airborne for almost one hour, the flight experienced severe turbulence, which caused chaos inside the 737 cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight crew then decided to divert and make a precautionary landing at Myrtle Beach (MYR). It landed safely at MYR at 1:32 PM UTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 According to The Guardian<\/em>, three Hawaiian Airlines (HA)<\/a> passengers were hospitalized after the aircraft experienced severe turbulence during its journey from Honolulu to Sydney.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred approximately five hours into the flight, which was carrying a total of 163 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon landing at Sydney Airport (SYD) on Friday night, emergency services responded to the situation. They provided medical examinations to 12 individuals, as stated by a New South Wales ambulance service spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the examined individuals, three passengers were subsequently taken to the hospital for further treatment of their injuries. In comparison, three crew members and four passengers received initial medical attention from onboard medics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
