TIRUCHIRAPPALLI-<\/strong> Tata-owned low-cost carrier, Air India Express (IX)<\/a> flight from Tiruchirappalli (TRZ) to Sharjah (SHJ), UAE, made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) due to technical snag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian carrier focused on gulf routes have a fleet of all Boeing<\/a> 737NG aircraft. Further, today’s (July 31, 2023) flight is operated using Boeing 737-800, registered as VT-AYD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to the Flight tracking website, FlightRadar24 data, the Air India Express flight IX613 took off from TRZ at 5:23 AM UTC (10:53 AM local time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Immediately after takeoff, the flight crew declared a full emergency. Subsequently, they wanted to burn extra fuel, and they have a better maintenance facility at TRV. Following this, they contacted TRV ATC and asked for a diversion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After getting a green light, they diverted to TRV and landed safely at 6:32 AM UTC (12:02 PM local time).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight, which is expected to land in Sharjah (SHJ) after four hours, might face more delays. The airline might transfer the passenger from the TRZ-SHJ flight to TRV-SHJ on the next flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft VT-AYD which is scheduled for two more flights in a day, might not be able to make it. This flight is on SHJ to Varanasi (VNS) and back to SHJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Express (IX), an LCC arm of\u00a0Air India (AI)<\/a>\u00a0flight from Thiruvananthapuram (TRV) to\u00a0Dubai (DXB)<\/a>\u00a0operated with Boeing 737 made a precautionary landing at TRV due to issues with Air Conditioning (AC) System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident took place on Sunday (23 July) afternoon. The plane safely landed at TRV, but a local standby was declared to allow the safe landing of the Air India Express flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the spokesperson, the airline acted swiftly to arrange another aircraft. Thereupon, ensuring a comfortable journey for all guests during the rescheduled departure at 1800 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spokesperson also emphasized Air India Express\u2019s dedication to delivering a safe, reliable, and comfortable travel experience for its passengers while expressing apologies for any inconvenience caused due to the delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Incidents with flights operated by Indian carriers, especially those operated by Tata-owned carriers, are on the rise. The parent company is trying all it can, from handling unruly passengers to fixing technical snags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
