KOLKATA-<\/strong> IndiGo (6E)<\/a> flight from Kolkata (CCU)<\/a> to Chennai (MAA)<\/a> makes an emergency landing back at CCU due to smoke detection inside the forward cargo hold of the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight operated with the help of an Airbus <\/a>A320neo, registered as VT-IPW. Further, it is just a one-month-old aircraft; IndiGo took it recently, and it entered the service on 15 July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to the flight tracking website, FlightRadar24 data, IndiGo flight 6E892<\/strong> took off from Kolkata (CCU) at 2:43 PM IST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after takeoff, the flight crew received a smoke warning from the sensors in the forward cargo hold of the aircraft. Following this, the pilot contacted ATC and decided to make a turnback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without burning extra fuel, the flight landed back at Kolkata at 2:57 PM IST, within 15 minutes of takeoff. Due to this incident, the flight was forced to make a heavy landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon landing, the airline engineering team inspected the aircraft, which currently it is under maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline arranged another aircraft, a two-year-old Airbus A320neo, registered as VT-IID. The flight took off again at around 5:03 PM IST and landed safely at Chennai (MAA) at 6:57 PM IST, after two hours delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All aircraft passengers and crew are safe, and no injuries are reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
