SEATTLE-<\/strong> TATA SIA joint venture Vistara (UK) Airlines<\/a> is ready to induct the new and fifth Boeing<\/a> 787 Dreamliner into its fleet from Seattle (BFI), United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Indian carrier received its fourth 787 (VT-TSP) three months back in March 2023. Further, the airline has placed an order for six Boeing 787s, and one is on lease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vistara Fifth Boeing 787 Incoming<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner<\/a>, registered as VT-TSO,<\/strong> is a one-year and nine-month-old aircraft. The aircraft, which had been in storage, arrived in Seattle on January 17, 2023, and is being prepared for delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the aircraft bears a US registration as N9674N<\/strong> and was first spotted in Vistara livery in May 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to our source, Boeing is preparing to deliver the 787 to Vistara in the coming days. While this will be the fourth aircraft owned by Vistaara and fifth 787 to be inducted into the fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CCI sends Notice to Air India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

 Air India (AI) CEO Campbell Wilson<\/a> responded on Friday, July 7, to recent reports concerning the proposed merger between Air India<\/a> and Vistara (UK). Wilson clarified that despite concerns raised by the Competition Commission of India (CCI), the merger remains on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the employees of Air India, Wilson acknowledged the CCI\u2019s request for more information on the merger proposal. Further, he reassured them that this request was customary. Subsequently, it is a vital step in the evaluation process, expressing his approval of the inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wilson highlighted that their low-cost carriers (LCC) integration is progressing well. Subsequently, he outlined the company\u2019s plan for a future state where the Air India group would have a single, larger full-service carrier and a single low-cost airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim is to have aligned practices, optimized systems, and improved career prospects across the combined entity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Air India CEO\u2019s response to the CCI notice reassures employees that the merger plans with Vistara are still progressing as intended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
