QUEBEC-<\/strong> Air Inuit (3H) has announced the ratification of an agreement to acquire three Boeing<\/a> Next-Generation 737-800 aircraft. Further enhancing its mission to deliver exceptional passenger and freight service to Nunavik and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a focus on safety, comfort, and efficiency, Air Inuit will customize these aircraft using its innovative combi configuration solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Inuit Boeing 737 Deal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The addition of these Boeing 737-800<\/a> aircraft will significantly increase Air Inuit’s capacity to transport passengers and deliver essential cargo to the communities it serves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These modern aircraft will not only enhance our operations but also contribute to our commitment to reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change,” stated President and CEO of Air Inuit Christian Busch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Replacing the aging Boeing 737-200 aircraft currently in service, the introduction of the Next-Generation 737-800s will result in a nearly 40 percent reduction in fuel emissions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new aircraft will also be equipped with main deck cargo doors to meet Nunavik’s specific cargo handling requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Inuit, founded in 1978, takes pride in its vital role in serving the region for over four decades. The addition of these aircraft signifies the airline’s commitment to growth and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the communities it serves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Economic and Social Development<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Makivik Corporation, Air Inuit’s fleet modernization is part of a broader initiative to fulfill its mission as an instrument of economic and social development, wholly owned by the Nunavik people. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Inuit of Nunavik have made significant investments to make this transformation possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three new Boeing 737-800 aircraft will be gradually introduced into Air Inuit’s fleet over the next 24 months. This fleet modernization project and the region’s growth will require substantial government investments to upgrade Nunavik’s airstrips. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ongoing discussions with stakeholders are aimed at aligning this vision with the priorities of the community members. Further details will be shared in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
