HAWAII-<\/strong> According to The Guardian<\/em>, three Hawaiian Airlines (HA)<\/a> passengers were hospitalized after the aircraft experienced severe turbulence during its journey from Honolulu to Sydney. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred approximately five hours into the flight, which was carrying a total of 163 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turbulence on Hawaiian Airlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Upon landing at Sydney Airport on Friday night, emergency services responded to the situation. They provided medical examinations to 12 individuals, as stated by a New South Wales ambulance service spokesperson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of the examined individuals, three passengers were subsequently taken to the hospital for further treatment of their injuries. In comparison, three crew members and four passengers received initial medical attention from onboard medics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hawaiian Airlines spokesperson expressed their immediate focus on the well-being of the passengers and crew affected by the turbulence event, expressing gratitude towards the swift assistance provided by the first responders at Sydney airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Airbus A330 aircraft underwent a thorough inspection before its return to Honolulu later that evening to ensure its airworthiness and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers Remarks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to an account from a passenger interviewed by the Sydney Morning Herald, the turbulence came unexpectedly, causing passengers to be jostled and the plane to experience a sudden drop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Melissa Matheso, a passenger on the flight, shared that a fellow traveler who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt narrowly avoided hitting the aircraft’s ceiling thanks to her husband’s quick thinking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Matheso also mentioned that some passengers and one crew member were provided with ice packs to alleviate discomfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, it was reported that over 100 flights from Sydney operated by Qantas, Virgin, and Jetstar were canceled on Friday due to strong winds, as per Daily Mail Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
