CONNECTICUT-<\/strong> Pratt and Whitney,<\/a> a business under RTX, has made an exciting announcement today regarding its collaboration with Air France (AF)<\/a> Industries KLM (KL)<\/a> Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AFI KLM E&M, which joined the Pratt & Whitney GTF MRO network last year, has successfully inducted its first Pratt & Whitney GTF\u2122 engine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This induction marks a significant milestone in the partnership’s growth. Further, it highlights the adoption of advanced technologies in the aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pratt Whitney Delivers GTF to Air France KLM<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

AFI KLM E&M’s entry into the Pratt & Whitney GTF MRO network in 2022 initially focused on disassembly, assembly, and testing capabilities for PW1500G model engines used in the Airbus A220 family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air France has previously chosen to power its fleet of 60 A220-300 aircraft, with an option to add up to 60 more, exclusively with GTF engines. Further, the airline operates 24 of these aircraft, with an additional 37 on order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GTF MRO network has witnessed remarkable growth over the past four years. With AFI KLM E&M becoming its 13th active location. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Europe, AFI KLM E&M stands out as one of the distinguished providers supporting GTF MRO work and will become the third facility in the region to offer comprehensive disassembly, assembly, and testing capabilities for the PW1500G engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Insights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Anne Brachet, Executive Vice President at Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance, expressed enthusiasm about the milestone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated, “With the induction of our first GTF engine, we’re expanding our capabilities with today’s most advanced technologies. By enhancing our expertise in overhauling geared turbofan engines. We are well-prepared to cater to the needs of current and future operators, including those in Europe.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marc Meredith, Vice President of GTF Engine Aftermarket at Pratt & Whitney, highlighted the importance of expanding the network to accommodate the rapidly growing fleet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated, “Pratt & Whitney has recently announced facility expansions and partner shop activations. Further demonstrating our commitment to providing world-class MRO services. With the fleet expanding at such a rapid pace, having top-notch providers like AFI KLM E&M in close proximity to our customers is crucial.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GTF MRO network consists of prominent MRO companies within the industry. Further, there are 13 operational GTF MRO engine centers worldwide, with an additional six set to commence operations by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This network forms an integral part of Pratt & Whitney’s EngineWise\u00ae solutions. Subsequently, encompasses a diverse array of aftermarket services, guaranteeing long-term value and sustainability for engine operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
