PHILADELPHIA-<\/strong> Flight attendants aboard an American Airlines (AA)<\/a> flight from Venice to Philadelphia sprang into action when their colleague suddenly collapsed during the flight; despite their valiant efforts, the veteran flight attendant, Carol Wright, tragically died later on Wednesday (21 June 2023).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred onboard American Airlines flight AA715 while it was flying over France. Carol collapsed before her fellow crew members, prompting the flight attendants to respond immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

American Airlines Attendant Dies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

They quickly initiated emergency life support procedures and performed CPR in a bid to save her life. Meanwhile, the pilots swiftly diverted the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner <\/a>to Dublin after declaring a medical emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within a short time, the aircraft touched down in Ireland, where airport fire services and paramedics were waiting, reported PYOK<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They rushed Carol to a local hospital. Her life could not be saved despite the tireless efforts of Carol’s colleagues and the emergency responders in Dublin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Internal communications from American Airlines confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that PHL-based Flight Attendant and Purser Carol Wright had passed away during the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carol had dedicated 38 years to her career with American Airlines and was cherished by her colleagues for her professionalism and the bonds she formed with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline is providing support to the crew members who were onboard with Carol and are in contact with her family, ensuring their needs are met during this difficult time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flight Cancellation and Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The flight was ultimately canceled after the incident, and passengers are being rebooked on alternative flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was initially reported that the flight was canceled due to a shortage of flight attendants. However, the Boeing 787-8 is legally permitted to operate with a minimum crew of six flight attendants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, it is understandable that all the crew members onboard were relieved of their duties given the distressing circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of life onboard an aircraft. In a similar incident last November, a Gulf Air flight attendant suffered a heart attack mid-flight from Bahrain to Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crew diverted the plane to Erbil in Iraq, where the crew member received medical attention. After a brief delay for refueling and paperwork, the flight continued to Paris with the same crew members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aviation industry mourns the loss of Carol Wright, a dedicated and beloved member of the American Airlines family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 4th July 2022, Saudia Airlines Boeing<\/a> 787-10 Dreamliner made an Emergency landing at Chennai Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane was en route from\u00a0Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia, with\u00a0Flight Number SV840. But it diverted to Chennai airport due to\u00a0a Medical Emergency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a source, The Airline operates regular flights from the Jeddah-Kuala Lumpur route. But on 4th July this year, something happened on board, and the plane diverted to Chennai at 7:30 Pm IST with an Ambulance kept ready on the ground for quick treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
