PARIS- <\/strong>Tata-owned Air India (AI)<\/a> has officially confirmed its order for 250 Airbus aircraft<\/a> and selected Airbus maintenance and digital solutions to fuel the airline’s strategic transformation and expansion plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft order includes 140 A320neo and 70 A321neo single-aisle planes, along with 34 A350-1000 and six A350-900 wide-body jets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This order solidifies Air India’s commitment to modernize and expand its fleet. Subsequently, the initial Letter of Intent for the acquisition was signed earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Confirms 250 Airbus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Reliable Maintenance Solutions: Air India will rely on Airbus to ensure optimal fleet availability through the Integrated Materials Solutions (IMS) provided by Satair, an Airbus company. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This maintenance solution will ensure that all necessary parts are readily available. Further, with automatic replenishment, enhancing operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its journey towards digitalization, Air India will become the launch customer for Airbus’ cutting-edge aviation analytics platform, Skywise Core X3. Subsequently, this collaboration between Airbus and Air India showcases their forward-thinking approach to revolutionizing the aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purchase agreements for the aircraft and the Letters of Intent for maintenance and digital services were officially signed at the Paris Air Show 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India, expressed the airline’s ambitious fleet renewal and expansion plans. Subsequently, aiming to operate the most advanced and fuel-efficient aircraft across their route network within five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This collaboration with Airbus and other partners signifies Air India’s determination to regain its position as a world-class premium carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International at Airbus commended Air India’s renaissance project, highlighting the efficiency, comfort, and range capability of Airbus’ latest generation aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The historic order from Air India marks the introduction of the Airbus A350 in India, the world’s fastest-growing aviation market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A350’s long-range capabilities will unlock new possibilities for India’s long-haul market. Subsequently, offering enhanced passenger experiences, improved sustainability, and economic benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the A320 Family aircraft will continue to democratize and decarbonize air travel in India, serving domestic, regional, and international routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A350 stands out as the world’s most modern and efficient wide-body aircraft in the 300-410 seater category. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With state-of-the-art technologies and aerodynamics, it boasts superior fuel efficiency and operating costs. Subsequently, carbon dioxide emissions reduction compared to previous-generation competitors. Further, the aircraft’s quiet cabin and modern in-flight features ensure a comfortable flying experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A321neo, part of Airbus’ renowned A320 Family, offers a spacious cabin. Further accommodating 180 to 220 passengers in a typical configuration and up to 244 in a higher-density layout. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A320neo, known for its comfort and versatility, accommodates 140 to 170 passengers. With a maximum capacity of up to 180 travelers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These aircraft demonstrate exceptional environmental performance. With at least 20% less fuel burn, reduced CO2 emissions, and a 50% noise footprint reduction compared to previous-generation aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
