DELHI-<\/strong> In a recent incident involving the Airbus<\/a> A320neo family of planes, Air India (AI)’s <\/a>Delhi (DEL) to Jammu (IXJ) flight experienced an engine stall and high vibrations, forcing it to return to the capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pilot promptly shuts the affected engine, ensuring the passengers’ safety onboard. The Air India Flight AI821 successfully landed back at Delhi IGI Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Delhi to Jammu Flight Emergency Landing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Flight Radar 24<\/em>, the Air India flight AI821 took off from DEL at 7:06 AM UTC. After being airborne for a few minutes and en route to Jammu Airport (IXJ), the aircraft experienced some trouble with the Engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this, at around 7:21 AM UTC, the flight crew asked the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) to return back to DEL. After getting clearance, the plane made an emergency landing at DEL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is Airbus A320neo, registered VT-EXQ. The aircraft is four years and four months old. Further, AI took it back in 2019 on lease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delhi-San Francisco Flight Diverted to Russia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

 Air India (AI)<\/a> flight from Delhi (DEL) to San Francisco (SFO) over Russian airspace diverted to the Magadan Airport in Russia over a suspected Engine problem. Air India operates daily non-stop flights on the DEL-SFO route using its Boeing 777.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Flight Radar 24, the aircraft took off from Delhi Int\u2019l Airport at 10:35 PM UTC on Jun 6, 2023. Further, the AI 173 flight en route to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) over Russian Airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the aircraft reported a technical snag in one of its engines. Subsequently, the pilot decided to divert the flight to one of the nearest airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an Air India spokesperson, 216 passengers and 16 crew members were on board Flight AI173.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spokesperson stated, \u201cThe passengers are being given necessary assistance at the airport and will be offered alternative options to reach their intended destination as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the aircraft is currently undergoing required inspections on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is Boeing 777-300 ER. Further, it is powered by one of the most powerful General Electric-developed GE 90 Engines. It has the registration VT-ALH. Further, it is approx 14 years old aircraft that AI took delivery of back in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
