BENGALURU- <\/strong>According to the source, the Bengaluru Airport (BLR)<\/a> will shift all its Int’l flights to the newly built Garden Terminal 2. Further, the first inaugurated flight is made by Star Air (S5)<\/a> from terminal 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bengaluru Terminal Int’l Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Effective September 1st, 2023<\/strong>, all international flight operations at Bengaluru Airport, also known as BLR Airport, will be relocated to the newly constructed Garden Terminal, which is referred to as Terminal 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under a public-private partnership, the Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) operates the terminal. Which is touted as India’s inaugural greenfield airport terminal project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by Bengaluru’s reputation as the ‘Garden City,’ the terminal at Kempegowda International Airport showcases a design that captures the essence of its surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Airport Technology<\/a><\/em>, the terminal’s initial phase spans four levels and encompasses a built-up area of 255,661m\u00b2. Subsequently, Passengers embark on a unique journey through over 10,000m\u00b2 of green walls, hanging gardens, and outdoor spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the notable features is the expansive indoor garden adorned with rammed-earth walls, waterfalls, and hanging planted bells. Subsequently, the lush area serves as an entry point to the bustling retail section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forest belt, a three-storeyed outdoor space nestled between the main terminal and boarding gates, offers a refreshing experience for travelers, complemented by its connection to the shopping area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This natural oasis is visible from various indoor spaces and adds to the terminal’s ambiance. An open call for proposals was announced for a monumental sculpture to be situated within the forest belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The terminal boasts walls made of brick, floors adorned with natural terrazzo, and an engineered bamboo ceiling, creating a contemporary and timeless aesthetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, an expansive outdoor garden, situated around a lagoon, serves as a plant nursery for maintenance purposes and is connected to Terminal 1 and the airport hotel through elevated walkways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lagoon collects rainwater, which can be reused for various processes, such as cooling and irrigation. Furthermore, Advanced technology and cutting-edge tools are integrated into the terminal to enhance airport operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
