PARIS-<\/strong> The flag carrier of Algeria, Air Algerie (AH), flight from Paris Orly Airport (ORY) to Algiers Airport (ALG), declared an emergency and is diverted to Marseille Provence Airport (MRS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flight AH1009 operating Boeing 737, declared an emergency midway. The Algerian carrier regularly operates daily flights from ORY to ALG with its 737s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air Algerie flight diverted to Marseille<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Flight Radar 24<\/a>, the Air Algerie flight took off from Paris ORY at 5:52 AM UTC. At around 6:25 AM, the plane lost a sudden altitude. Further, it can be due to a technical snag or loss in thrust from engines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exact reason for the sudden loss of altitude is not known. But following this pilot declared an emergency. Subsequently, after getting ATC clearance and following the checklist, the pilot diverted to Marseille, MRS, at 6:53 AM UTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft has landed safely and is currently getting inspected at MRS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India Diverted to Russia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to Flight Radar 24, the aircraft took off from Delhi Int\u2019l Airport at 10:35 PM UTC on Jun 6, 2023. The AI 173 flight en route to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) over Russian Airspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the aircraft reported a technical snag in one of its engines. Subsequently, the pilot decided to divert the flight to one of the nearest airports<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft landed safely at Magadan Airport (GDX) in Russia at around 8:36 AM UTC. The plane was airborne for almost 10 hours from its Takeoff from DEL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to an Air India spokesperson, 216 passengers and 16 crew members were on board Flight AI173.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spokesperson stated, \u201cThe passengers are being given necessary assistance at the airport and will be offered alternative options to reach their intended destination as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the aircraft is currently undergoing required inspections on the ground.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft involved in the incident is Boeing 777-300 ER. Further, it is powered by one of the most powerful General Electric-developed GE 90 Engines. It has the registration VT-ALH. Further, it is approx 14 years old aircraft that AI took delivery of back in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
