MELBOURNE-<\/strong> Australian Flag Carrier Qantas (QF)<\/a> recently expanded its Dreamliner fleet by taking delivery of another Boeing 787 on June 3rd. This addition brings the total number of Dreamliners in QF’s fleet to 13. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being the second aircraft acquired by the airline after the pandemic. This particular airframe has been in service for nearly three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The arrival of this aircraft enables Qantas to enhance its capacity for long-haul intercontinental flights. Further supporting its operations in serving passengers across various international destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the aircraft is new to Qantas, it is not a recently manufactured model from Boeing’s production line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas 13th Boeing 787<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The latest 787-9 aircraft, with the registration VH-ZNM and manufacturer’s serial number (MSN) 66077, embarked on a flight from Boeing’s facilities in Everett on Friday, June 3rd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The destination of this Qantas aircraft is Melbourne, Australia’s second-largest city. Further, the aircraft, specifically identified as line number 1035, made its journey to serve the airline’s operations and passenger needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to FlightRadar24.com, the aircraft departed from Paine Field (PAE) at 17:07 local time. As of now, the aircraft has not reached its destination in Melbourne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, the previous delivery of a 787 aircraft, VH-ZNL, in April 2023 followed a similar route and arrived in Melbourne after approximately 16 hours of flight time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

QFs First Dreamliner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The airline took the delivery of the Boeing 787 on the 30th of April, 2023. Furthermore, the aircraft has the registration VH-ZNL. The aircraft is part of the last batch of Dreamliner that the airline will induct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VH-ZNL is the first 787 aircraft the airline took after three years, named Billabong. In Australia, the term \u201cbillabong\u201d refers to an oxbow lake, which is a curved body of water that remains after a river changes its course and cuts off a section of the previous river channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the flight tracking website Flight Radar 24, the VH-ZNL 787, operated as QF6040, took off from Everett (PAE) at 1:56 AM UTC. After being airborne for almost 8 hours and covering a distance of 13,182 Km, it landed at Melbourne Airport (MEL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plane is currently in Melbourne and will be utilized shortly. Further, Qantas has announced its intention to link Sydney and New York through Auckland<\/a>, using the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for the route. The airline plans to commence operations in June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new Boeing 787 will connect Australia with the United States and will provide travelers with another reason to travel to Australia with modern and superior Qantas Cabins. Furthermore, the Qantas Boeing 787 Dreamliner has 42 Business Class, 28 Premium Economy, and 166 Economy seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
