Starting in late October 2023, Qantas (QF)<\/a>, the Australian national carrier, plans to bolster its international network by adding extra flights, expanding its aircraft fleet, and introducing new routes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This strategic move aligns with the growing travel demand and the ongoing recovery of the aviation industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of 12 months, Qantas aims to provide approximately one million additional seats compared to its current schedule. Subsequently granting passengers greater options to well-liked destinations in Asia, the United States, and the Pacific.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australian carrier has announced an increase in flight operations for the following routes starting from October 29, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flag carrier Qantas is set to expand its capacity through a combination of aircraft returning to service. Further new fleet additions and collaboration with oneworld partner Finnair. This strategic approach will enable the airline to enhance its offerings and meet the growing demand for travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these network changes, the international capacity of the Qantas Group is projected to reach approximately 100% of pre-COVID levels by March 2024. This represents a significant increase from 44% a year ago and the current level of 84%. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The additional flights will be operated by the dedicated team of 2,400 pilots and cabin crew members who joined the Qantas Group since the reopening of borders. As the operations expand, the company plans to recruit an additional 300 personnel by the end of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fleet<\/strong> Development<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Qantas has reintroduced five international aircraft into its fleet in the past six months. These aircraft, some of which were in long-term storage and others used as operational spares during the industry’s stabilization period, have been brought back to support the airline’s growing operations. Additionally, a new Boeing <\/a>787 Dreamliner has already arrived, and two more will be delivered next month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the most recent Qantas Airbus<\/a> A380, which was previously stored in the desert, has been reactivated since January. Subsequently, another A380 is scheduled to return to service at the end of the year after undergoing maintenance and cabin modifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

International<\/strong> Expansion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This exciting development coincides with Qantas’ plans to resume flights to San Francisco next week. Further, introduce its inaugural service from Sydney to New York via Auckland in the following month. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, seasonal services to Rome and flights between Melbourne and Hong Kong will recommence in June. These additions to Qantas’ route network signify the airline’s commitment to expanding its international presence and offering more travel options to its customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
