The demand for aviation technicians is very high even though the nation has a severe pilot shortage. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in DeLand employs Charles Horning as a professor. According to him, these mechanics are seriously lacking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Horning, the mechanic must certify that the plane is airworthy before it may take off, even if there are two pilots seated up front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing Aviation Technicians Report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To fly and maintain airplanes around the world during the next 20 years, according to Boeing’s annual Pilot and Technician outlook, more than 600,000 new maintenance technicians will be required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Horning, the COVID-19 pandemic is partly to blame for that. Horning said, “There was a decline in the number of new technicians becoming certified, so you’re looking at a deficit of technicians, say, two years out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

” “Those people who will fill those positions need to start attending school immediately, as most institutions last between 16 and 24 months.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each year over the next ten years, it is anticipated that there will be more than 13,000 opportunities for mechanics and technicians of aviation and avionics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Federal Aviation Administration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“There’s a huge gap between the number of openings and the number of new technicians that are being certified yearly,” Horning said. “Just last year, the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) <\/a>only certificated less than 7,000 new technicians.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
